Costio respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the app accesses, uses, stores, and shares user data.

Costio may collect and process the following information:

• Account information such as email address when you sign in
• Expense and income records you enter in the app
• Workspace and shared member information you create
• Voice input data only when you choose to use microphone-based expense entry
• Device and app usage information needed to operate the app properly

2. Microphone Permission

Costio may request access to the microphone only when you choose to use voice input. The microphone is used only to convert your speech into text for expense entry. Costio does not record audio in the background. If you do not grant microphone permission, you can still use the app by entering data manually.

3. How We Use Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Save and organize your expenses, income, budgets, and workspaces
• Support voice-based expense entry
• Improve app features and user experience
• Provide shared workspace functionality
• Process subscription status and premium access

4. Data Storage and Sharing

Your data may be stored securely using Supabase and other service providers required for app functionality. If AI-powered parsing is used, text you enter or speech converted to text may be processed by third-party AI services only for expense categorization and extraction. We do not sell your personal data.

5. Data Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account remains active or as needed to provide app functionality. If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your data where reasonably possible, unless retention is required for legal or security reasons.

6. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

7. Your Choices

• Deny microphone permission and continue using typed input
• Stop using the app at any time
• Contact us to request deletion or ask privacy questions

8. Children

Costio is not intended for children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted at the same URL.
